So Long… Farewell…

Hello everyone!

I am sad to say that this is my last blog post ever. It’s been so wonderful blogging for the past 3 years, but it will be nice to do something new! This post is going to be all about my 8th grade Universal trip!

So, on Friday, May 8, 2015, I woke up at 4 o’clock with two of my best friends, Erin and Sydney. We got dressed and started the 45 minute drive to Dreams Are Free, one of the schools we would be traveling to Universal with. The rest of our class met us there, along with our language arts teacher, Mrs.Donofrio, and our Science teacher, who is also our homeroom teacher, Mr. Morganelli. We loaded onto a SCHOOL BUS along with 8th grade classes from 3 other schools, Dreams Are Free, Incarnation, and St. Joseph’s.

~~Let me explain about the capitol-letter school bus. We do not have a school bus at our school, we rent Charter busses if we want to go anywhere for field trip. Charter buses are air-conditioned, cushioned-seated, space-filled buses that even have an on-the-road bathroom. We all were under the impression we were traveling on one of those glory buses. Instead, we got treated to a small, cramped, non-air-conditioned, non bathroomed school bus. Disappointment of the century. Oh well. Back to the story.~~

We rode the bus for about 2 hours, stopped at rest stop where we used the facilities and vending machines, and rode for 1 1/2 hours. FINALLY, after the longest ride EVER, we arrived in Universal, Orlando. the driver parked the bus, and we walked into the park. There, we met our VIP tour guide who took us on a tour of the park. The tour let us skip the line at my Mom’s favorite ride, Rise of the Mummy. It’s sort of scary if you’re not expecting it, but I really like it.

We also got to see backstage at the film studio, where they edit and film some the Universal movies. Our guide was very energetic, and knew a lot of facts about the park that were very interesting. After the tour ended, each of the classes went their own separate ways. Our class went to the Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket, which goes straight up, and straight down at an outrageous speed. While you are on the ride, you get to listen to a song of your choice. I love to listen to the song “I Will Survive.”

After that ride, we ate lunch and went to Harry Potter world, which is, as I’m sure you can guess, an entire section of the park dedicated to Harry Potter, which is one of my favorite book series ever written. While we were there, we drank this thing called Butterbeer, which tastes a bit like cream soda. It tastes the best frozen, and with cream on top. YUM! Then, we went to the Gringotts bank ride, which is very fun. We rode the train to the other Universal park, called Islands of Adventure. There, we rode the second Harry Potter ride, which is my favorite. The area around the ride looks exactly like it does in the Harry Potter movies, and how a reader would imagine it in the books. After we rode the ride, we waited for the second half of our group, which had gone on to another ride. When everyone was done in Harry Potter world, we made our way to the land of Marvel. Marvel is all about superheroes, and supervillians. One of the boys in my class really loves Spiderman, so we all rode the Spiderman ride, which is 3-D. Unfortunately, when we were done with that ride, we had to make our way back to the bus, where we met the rest of our group. We rode to D.A.F., and our parents drove us home. Auf Weisehenn…Goodbye!

Have you ever been to Universal? Would you ever want to go? Is there an amusement park where you live?
